KellyOCG 2017 Fall Supplier Forums: A Resounding Success
The KellyOCG® annual Global Fall Supplier Series was once again a resounding success. The theme of the two 2017 Fall Supplier Forums, which took place in Houston, TX, USA and Zürich, Switzerland was “Amplify-Interlock-Connect - Connecting TALENT with the World of Work.” In addition to featuring expert presentations about how the latest trends are shaping and sharpening real-world talent strategies in the Americas and EMEA, the events also provided opportunities for suppliers to build community and network with peers, client program operations teams, and leaders from KellyOCG and Kelly Services.
The Americas event in Houston took place on November 2nd and focused on the energy industry. The EMEA event in Zürich, which took place on November 9th, was focused on the life sciences industry. In today’s era of geopolitical uncertainty, industry disruption, evolving market regulations, and rapidly changing technology, the ongoing talent scarcity poses a significant business challenge for these two industries—and many more. Since employers are becoming increasingly reliant on independent consultants, contractors, and third-party service providers, the Americas and EMEA 2017 Fall Supplier Forums aimed to provide insights into how KellyOCG and its supplier network can meet changing workforce demands by paying attention to the needs of the talent that is so critical to business operations. As such, presentation topics included the market outlook for 2018 and beyond, as well as talent retention, contingent talent as a C-suite issue, the human cloud, influencing the future of talent market intelligence, and more.
Furthermore, the forums served to strengthen the supply chain community by encouraging suppliers to form partnerships and work together to move forward in today’s unchartered territory, in order to surmount unprecedented challenges. These challenges include not only every day scenarios, but also natural disasters such as the severe storms that have impacted several regions in recent months. For this reason, the Americas event was dedicated to the people of Houston and featured a fundraiser to benefit a local school that was displaced after severe flooding damaged its building during Hurricane Harvey. Connecting talent to work isn’t just about having meetings—it’s also about creating a movement. Our suppliers are heavily involved in this movement because they care deeply about the communities we service together.
